Brendan Root was intrigued by wine from an early age through exposure at his parent's dinner parties but it wasn't until he began working in the service industry where his passion really took off. After studying under some of New York City's top wine directors he decided it was time to take his love of grape juice to the streets with Weygandt Selections. When he's not drinking wine Brendan can be found on the ski slopes, hanging with his rescue kitten, and strumming his guitar.

Justin Tatham

Prior to joining the world of wine, Justin spent a decade working as an organizer and lobbyist for national environmental organizations in Washington, D.C. After taking a year off to live and travel throughout Asia with his wife, Justin relocated to New York and embarked on a career in wine. He spent time working his way up on the restaurant and hospitality side of the wine trade, first in a wine bar, then as a Sommelier for a Michelin starred restaurant, and most recently as Wine Director for a long running oyster bar and seafood restaurant in SoHo. Justin joined Weygandt Selections in January 2019 and works primarily with restaurants in Manhattan. Justin lives with his wife and son in Hoboken, New Jersey.

Emily Philip
New Jersey Sales
Emily Philip has over a decade of experience in wine sales and a lifelong connection to hospitality. She grew up in a restaurant family — her father was a chef and her mother ran front of house — and later worked in public education and the arts before returning to wine full-time. Based in New Jersey, she works across the state connecting restaurants and retailers with expressive, thoughtfully made wines. When she’s not on the road for tastings, she’s with her two young kids or spending time in the garden.
